Our busy saturday

Here are a few pictures of everything we've done today.

Blake's project

Blake has been teaching himself how to do outdoor pavers. He likes to do new things, and get creative with them. These are a couple pictures of the circles he has made in the front of the house by the driveway and front sidewalk to the door. They are looking so awesome. These pictures don't do them justice! He spent the whole day laying sand, making the pattern out, laying pavers, hammering them down with a rubber mallet and nailing in the edging that keeps the pavers in line. He came out with only a few minor injuries from the mallet. When I went out at one time to check on him, he had his thumb taped with duct tape. When I looked at it he told me how he had hit it so hard that it was dripping blood and that was the only thing he could do to stop it from bleeding. Then to make matters worse his cousin dropped a paver on it. Such bad luck. But they are looking so good!

Tristen's project

I decided to paint a picture in Nixon's room. It has taken a lot longer than I thought it would. It's still a work in progress but I think it is coming along great. Just to explain it a little bit, it is going to be like you are standing in a jungle tent looking out at the animals. Then in one corner there is a monkey that will be hanging by a rope.
I just hope that NIxon will appreciate it when he is a little older. I know that his cousins think it's pretty cool. I just finished doing the animals today and every day Brielle and Hunter would look at it and tell me that I needed to put eyes on the animals. They will be so excited to see that Nixon's animals finally have eyes.

Deer in the headlights.... Kind of

Probably the only thing that I hate about the winter time is that it starts getting late so early! The sun is almost completely down at like six o'clock. Nixon and I were driving home from West Point the other night at about six and it was almost completely dark outside. We were on Legacy Highway, which I love by the way since there is hardly ever any traffic on there ever! The only downfall to Legacy is that it is super dark at night time. There aren't many cars or street lights which makes it almost pitch black at night. Well this was how it was the other night. As we were driving I looked just ahead of us and to the left of the car and saw something strange in the lane next to us. At first it looked kind of like a person trying to cross the highway. Upon further observation I noticed that it was a big deer, running right at my car! This wasn't just any deer mind you, it was a really big buck, the kind Blake wished he would have found a few weeks ago while he was deer hunting. I saw that it was running right towards my car. I slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right, but there was nothing I could do. It came crashing into the side of my little Toyota Yaris. I screamed and woke the baby up, then saw it run away in my rearview mirror. I immediately called Blake freaking out. I told him what had happened but was so shaken up that I was crying, hyperventilating, and shaking. He was close so my knight in shining armor rushed to my rescue.

So as I sat in the front seat almost in shock, Nixon was crying in the back because I scared him. I regained my composure, comforted the baby and waited patiently for Blake to come, not knowing at all what the damage was. Blake arrived and I got out of the car and ran to him, still crying. As he looked over the damages he gave me this look and said, 'this is all it was, I thought your hood was crunched in that the windshield was all broken and crashed in' I too looked at the car, but it really wasn't as bad as I first thought. I think that my freaking out caused Blake to freak out too.

Ok so the damage really wasn't that bad. My side mirror was dangling by the wires and I have dents all along the side of the car. And a large one in the rear panel. So I guess no biggie. I'm just thankful that it happened on my side of the car and not the side that Nixon sits on, even though it wasn't that bad. I'm also so thankful that it wasn't a person like it looked at first glance. The only thing bad about the situation is that we just barely switched insurance companies and I am hoping that it doesn't make our rates jump up. So there is my story of my bad Wednesday, I guess alls well that ends well!

I'm so Naive!

I just have this problem I guess and always think the very best of people. I decided that I too am going to join the rally against creepy people, who take all the fun out of blogging for everyone. I have thought about doing this in that past but never quite got to it, but after seeing the news report I decided that it's going to go though this time. I think you all know what to do... Leave me your email or send it to mine at tawisten07@yahoo.com so I can add you on my list. Thanks!

I just wanted to say that I haven't posted for a long time because I lost my camera cord that puts pictures on the computer. A post just isn't the same without pictures of Nixon in it, Right...

We have been doing good though, our house is coming close to being done, hopefully we'll be able to move next week or so. I've been busy painting the house (and after I find my camera I'll post a picture of the project I've been working on for Nixon's room, I think it is turing out cute so far) and Blake has been busy working on the pavers in the driveway. He is having so much fun learning something new. It's going to look so awesome when we are done!

We didn't do much on Halloween, Nixon had the cutest costume though! He didn't like to wear it as much as he liked to rub the soft material on his face. Picture of that will be posted at a later time as well.

We went to Abby Jade's blessing on Sunday. Scott did such a good job and her dress was so pretty! She is such a sweet baby, and so beautiful! I think she looks more and more like Devyn everytime I see her. Go to Devyn's blog to see pics.

More to be posted later! See ya
