A piece of advice.

This happened to me about a month ago, but I just thought I'd share it to prevent anything bad happening to anyone else. If you go to get your oil changed, always check that your hood is properly latched before you leave. I went to get my oil changed and after I left I got on the freeway to go meet my mom to do some shopping. As I got on the freeway and increased in speed, the hood of my car flew up! It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I was totally unable to see anything! I had about two inches of sight under the edge of my hood. I was able to pull over to the side of the freeway and shut it.

After I shut the hood I called Blake in complete panic. He calmed me down and together we went back to the place I got my oil changed and spoke with the manager. He was very apologetic and told us to get a few estimates done and they would repair all the damages. We did as we were asked and turned them in. A few days ago we got a call from the regional manager who is refusing to pay for the damages caused. We are in such a mess right now! All I'm asking is that my car get repaired! I know it wouldn't seem like that big of an expense but all the estimates turned out to be around two thousand dollars! I hope that everything works out and we can get this taken care of soon!

I just need to thank the Lord for being there with Nixon and I on that day. I know he was watching over and protecting us. If we wouldn't have been in that exact spot, in the far right hand lane, and that perfect time of day we could have been seriously injured. Not only Nix and I, but some other car could have been involved!

Moral of the story is... ALWAYS check that the hood is latched tightly!!

A lot has happened!

It's been such a long time since my last post. Not having the internet at home sure puts a damper on my blogging time.
Alot has happened in the past few weeks. Nixon has learned to crawl. Well he's been doing it since about Valentines day. He is all over the house exploring! He sure keeps Mom and Dad on their toes. We are always searching for him and find him in weird places such as the laundry room chewing on lint fuzzys. Gross I know, I've learned to keep the laundry room door shut.

Then two days ago he started crawling up the stairs. I was looking for him and saw him stuck on the second step. Luckily he didn't fall down the stair! So I guess that means that I need to get a baby gate so he can't go up anymore.

He is also starting to become a couch surfer, well he pulls himself up to a standing position but he forgets to move his feet. It will happen all too soon though. He is so funny, much to Blake's dismay, I'm afraid he is going to be a ballerina when he grows up. Nixon is constanly on his tip toes. Hardly ever is he flat footed!

Nixon also had his first real haircut. I'm a horrible mother and didn't get any pictures of the before or after, but I did save all the hair. I know I'm weird. Nixon was so good for his daddy. Blake used the clippers and Nix just sat there in the sink while daddy cut his hair. I think he liked to look at himself in the mirror. He looked so handsome at the end, although we still have to just give him a mohawk. Sometimes I can kinda spike it up, but at the end of the day all the hair just migrates to center.
Here is a picture that I tried spiking his hair. THis was just a few days after the cut.

We've also hit another huge milestone. Drum roll please.... Nixon is finally finally sleeping through the night (knock on wood). Mommy and Daddy are loving the extra sleep that we've been missing for so long. He is also finally taking good naps now too. At least a few hours. Its GREAT!!
