Deer in the headlights.... Kind of

Probably the only thing that I hate about the winter time is that it starts getting late so early! The sun is almost completely down at like six o'clock. Nixon and I were driving home from West Point the other night at about six and it was almost completely dark outside. We were on Legacy Highway, which I love by the way since there is hardly ever any traffic on there ever! The only downfall to Legacy is that it is super dark at night time. There aren't many cars or street lights which makes it almost pitch black at night. Well this was how it was the other night. As we were driving I looked just ahead of us and to the left of the car and saw something strange in the lane next to us. At first it looked kind of like a person trying to cross the highway. Upon further observation I noticed that it was a big deer, running right at my car! This wasn't just any deer mind you, it was a really big buck, the kind Blake wished he would have found a few weeks ago while he was deer hunting. I saw that it was running right towards my car. I slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right, but there was nothing I could do. It came crashing into the side of my little Toyota Yaris. I screamed and woke the baby up, then saw it run away in my rearview mirror. I immediately called Blake freaking out. I told him what had happened but was so shaken up that I was crying, hyperventilating, and shaking. He was close so my knight in shining armor rushed to my rescue.

So as I sat in the front seat almost in shock, Nixon was crying in the back because I scared him. I regained my composure, comforted the baby and waited patiently for Blake to come, not knowing at all what the damage was. Blake arrived and I got out of the car and ran to him, still crying. As he looked over the damages he gave me this look and said, 'this is all it was, I thought your hood was crunched in that the windshield was all broken and crashed in' I too looked at the car, but it really wasn't as bad as I first thought. I think that my freaking out caused Blake to freak out too.

Ok so the damage really wasn't that bad. My side mirror was dangling by the wires and I have dents all along the side of the car. And a large one in the rear panel. So I guess no biggie. I'm just thankful that it happened on my side of the car and not the side that Nixon sits on, even though it wasn't that bad. I'm also so thankful that it wasn't a person like it looked at first glance. The only thing bad about the situation is that we just barely switched insurance companies and I am hoping that it doesn't make our rates jump up. So there is my story of my bad Wednesday, I guess alls well that ends well!

I'm so Naive!

I just have this problem I guess and always think the very best of people. I decided that I too am going to join the rally against creepy people, who take all the fun out of blogging for everyone. I have thought about doing this in that past but never quite got to it, but after seeing the news report I decided that it's going to go though this time. I think you all know what to do... Leave me your email or send it to mine at tawisten07@yahoo.com so I can add you on my list. Thanks!

I just wanted to say that I haven't posted for a long time because I lost my camera cord that puts pictures on the computer. A post just isn't the same without pictures of Nixon in it, Right...

We have been doing good though, our house is coming close to being done, hopefully we'll be able to move next week or so. I've been busy painting the house (and after I find my camera I'll post a picture of the project I've been working on for Nixon's room, I think it is turing out cute so far) and Blake has been busy working on the pavers in the driveway. He is having so much fun learning something new. It's going to look so awesome when we are done!

We didn't do much on Halloween, Nixon had the cutest costume though! He didn't like to wear it as much as he liked to rub the soft material on his face. Picture of that will be posted at a later time as well.

We went to Abby Jade's blessing on Sunday. Scott did such a good job and her dress was so pretty! She is such a sweet baby, and so beautiful! I think she looks more and more like Devyn everytime I see her. Go to Devyn's blog to see pics.

More to be posted later! See ya

Silly Hubby

A new use for the Bumbo. A new kind of hat! Gosh I love this husband of mine. He always keeps me laughing and on my toes. Just imagine what I have in store for myself in a few years when Nix and Daddy get together.

Nixon was tagged!

Thanks Megan this one is fun. Sorry it took me so long to get to it!
RULES: Tell five things about your kids that people might not know, and you have to do all of your kids!

1. Nixon thinks he is a big boy. The very first day he was born he was trying to hold his head up all by himself, and he is always wanting to stand or sit. He doesn't like to just lay there ever. He loves his bumbo, and his swing cause that is more sitting then laying

2. He loves his froggy blankie, he always wants to cuddle it. He has to have it with him in his car seat whenever we go for a ride to hold on to. He also loves to cuddle it during his naps.

3. He is a snuggle bunny, especially when he gets sleepy. He wants to be held close then he'll snuggle his nose down it the crook of my arm or my armpit, or this case the blanket. Then he'll fall asleep.

4. He doesn't like the dark! I know he takes after his mommy. When we are driving at night he will scream and scream until we get to where there are a lot of city lights then he'll stop. Until we go on another dark road then he'll scream some more. It is the funniest thing!

5. He likes to watch sports. It doesn't matter what kind of sport it is he'll just sit there quietly and watch it. He loves to watch them with daddy. Dad doesn't really like it when he watches sports with mecause it's usually something like dancing with the stars. I think he was watching football in this one.

I tag Jen M, Nichole, Natalie, Kathy, and Tauna

Blessing Day

Sunday Nixon had his baby blessing. Blake did such a good job. It was so beautiful! Nixon and I am so lucky to have Blake in our lives. Nixon did really well too, until the very end when he started whining, arching his back and squirming, needless to say it kinda made Blake lose his train of thought but it was still really good. We went over to Aunt Tauna and Uncle Chad's after the meeting for a luncheon with our family and friends. Thanks again to them for letting us go to their new beautiful home. Our mom's and our aunts did so awesome with the food. Here is some pictures of the food and how it was all set up, and some of the people enjoying it as well.

The Uncles...Some Friends.

Getting dressed and ready for the big day.

Nixon's Blessing outfit was so cute. He barely squoze into it though. His chub in his legs were bubbling out. It was cute though. He is such a handsome boy!

Nixon and Abby, I can't believe how much bigger he is then her! She looks so tiny next to him.

Jaycie and Jaxon sure hit it off... they are now friends for life!

Blake and his boy

So as some of you may know the preseason games have started for the Utah Jazz. This was Blake and Nixon watching the game together. They were both just sucked into the TV. That is what will be running our TV for the next few months is non stop basketball. GO JAZZ!
