Nine month Check up

Nix had his nine month check up today, the Doctor said everything was looking really good. He has sure thinned out alot since he started crawling everywhere. He has also getting the hang of pulling himself to standing and couch surfing. These are his stats. Height: 28.5 inches 50%
Weight: 19.14 pounds 50%
Head: I don't remeber the measurement but in the 50th Percentile.
What happened to 98%? Oh well, he is healthy and happy.

I also spoke too soon on the sleeping through the night. I guess it was just a one week thing, cause he's back to the normal wake up two or three times. We've even had a few nights where Blake or I would take turns watching cartoons with him at 3 o'clock in the morning cause that was the only thing that would make him fall back to sleep. So if anyone has any wonderful ideas on getting a baby to sleep please share, for my sanity!

He must know that he's cute cause this is his favorite place to hide from mommy, sitting right in front of a mirror that I haven't found a home for yet. I don't know why but whenever he goes "exploring" this is the first place he heads.
He also has gotten another tooth about a week and a half ago. So now he has his two bottom front teeth. THe dental assistant in me has to keep reminding myself that they are just baby teeth and crookedness isn't that important! Hopefully the permanent ones grow in straight, and if not I guess I have connections!

All in all he is such a good baby and brings so much joy and happiness into our lives. The bright eyes and huge smile he flashes every morning seems to make it not matter how many times I've been up in the night, or that we're awake at six thirty on a saturday morning. He's definatly a momma's boy, which I'm not complaning about. I love that he reaches for me. I just feel bad that he pushes Blake away to get to me. Don't worry honey one day it will be the other way around!
I just can't imagine life with out Nixon. I am so thankful that my Heavenly Father trusted me enough to take care and raise one of his most special spirits!

Our Easter

I'm am so far behind! I know, I know, Easter was like two weeks ago. But not having Internet or a computer now at home, ours got donated to Blake's work, sure puts a damper on things.

We had such a fun Easter. Saturday we had a picnic and Easter egg hunt at Grandma Corrie and Pampa Jeff's house. Nixon had so much fun looking for the eggs (with daddy's help) he even snagged a few before Brielle or Hunter found them. I have pictures but for some reason I can't get those to download. SO I'll try and post some from Gramma Corrie's later.

Then we went and had a barbecue at Gwam Nancie and Gramp Bob's house. We also decorated Easter eggs. Nixon had lots of fun trying to tip all the cups of dye over.

The dying process.

Trying to eat an egg.

Playing with the finished project.

Grandma and Grandpa also got a cute little basket for Nixon with some fun summer outfits and other treats.

Nixon was so excited on Easter Morning to find a basket with some treats and outfits from the Easter bunny. OK I was probably more excited then he was, but shhhh its a secret.
In his basket the Easter bunny also put an Elmo movie and some bubbles, which he loves both of them!!
This is his cute Easter outfit for church, but I couldn't get a good picture of it so I'll have to try again and pretend that it was taken on Easter morning for his scrapbook.

P.S. I really need to get rid of this ugly teal couch. Maybe someday we'll be rich and can have matching furniture.

Then on Easter day (I know I broke the sabbath) I went with Corrie, Tauna, and Brielle. I must say, I probably have the best mother in law who surprised us for Christmas with tickets to WICKED

OH MY GOSH!!! I absolutely loved it! It is such an amazing play! If you get the chance to see it THEN GO!!! Ok I also read the book, not so good. It had alot of dark and sex scenes in it. You could tell it was written by a man, But the play was not at all like the book. It was so so good. I laughed I cried. It was so great.
Thanks again for taking us Corrie! Love ya!!

A piece of advice.

This happened to me about a month ago, but I just thought I'd share it to prevent anything bad happening to anyone else. If you go to get your oil changed, always check that your hood is properly latched before you leave. I went to get my oil changed and after I left I got on the freeway to go meet my mom to do some shopping. As I got on the freeway and increased in speed, the hood of my car flew up! It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. I was totally unable to see anything! I had about two inches of sight under the edge of my hood. I was able to pull over to the side of the freeway and shut it.

After I shut the hood I called Blake in complete panic. He calmed me down and together we went back to the place I got my oil changed and spoke with the manager. He was very apologetic and told us to get a few estimates done and they would repair all the damages. We did as we were asked and turned them in. A few days ago we got a call from the regional manager who is refusing to pay for the damages caused. We are in such a mess right now! All I'm asking is that my car get repaired! I know it wouldn't seem like that big of an expense but all the estimates turned out to be around two thousand dollars! I hope that everything works out and we can get this taken care of soon!

I just need to thank the Lord for being there with Nixon and I on that day. I know he was watching over and protecting us. If we wouldn't have been in that exact spot, in the far right hand lane, and that perfect time of day we could have been seriously injured. Not only Nix and I, but some other car could have been involved!

Moral of the story is... ALWAYS check that the hood is latched tightly!!

A lot has happened!

It's been such a long time since my last post. Not having the internet at home sure puts a damper on my blogging time.
Alot has happened in the past few weeks. Nixon has learned to crawl. Well he's been doing it since about Valentines day. He is all over the house exploring! He sure keeps Mom and Dad on their toes. We are always searching for him and find him in weird places such as the laundry room chewing on lint fuzzys. Gross I know, I've learned to keep the laundry room door shut.

Then two days ago he started crawling up the stairs. I was looking for him and saw him stuck on the second step. Luckily he didn't fall down the stair! So I guess that means that I need to get a baby gate so he can't go up anymore.

He is also starting to become a couch surfer, well he pulls himself up to a standing position but he forgets to move his feet. It will happen all too soon though. He is so funny, much to Blake's dismay, I'm afraid he is going to be a ballerina when he grows up. Nixon is constanly on his tip toes. Hardly ever is he flat footed!

Nixon also had his first real haircut. I'm a horrible mother and didn't get any pictures of the before or after, but I did save all the hair. I know I'm weird. Nixon was so good for his daddy. Blake used the clippers and Nix just sat there in the sink while daddy cut his hair. I think he liked to look at himself in the mirror. He looked so handsome at the end, although we still have to just give him a mohawk. Sometimes I can kinda spike it up, but at the end of the day all the hair just migrates to center.
Here is a picture that I tried spiking his hair. THis was just a few days after the cut.

We've also hit another huge milestone. Drum roll please.... Nixon is finally finally sleeping through the night (knock on wood). Mommy and Daddy are loving the extra sleep that we've been missing for so long. He is also finally taking good naps now too. At least a few hours. Its GREAT!!

Happy 2nd Anniversary Blake!

My husband loves me so much that he was willing to marry my twice. We were married Jan 20, 2007, and then on Feb 9, 2008 we were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all Eternity. I am so thankful to have the blessing of having an Eternal Family. I found a quote I loved by President Gordon B. Hinkley:
"Every man who truly loves a woman, and every woman who truly loves a man, hopes and dreams that their companionship will last forever. But marriage is a covenant sealed by authority. If that authority is of the state alone, it will endure only while the state has jurisdiction, and that jurisdiction ends with death. But add to the authority of the state the power of the endowment given by Him who overcame death, and that companionship will endure beyond life if the parties to the marriage live worthy of the promise."

Happy Second Anniversary Blake

Sorry it's been so long.... Long post

My little boy is growing so fast. He's not so little anymore. I am a horrible mother and didn't do any posts about my baby's half birthday! Well he is seven months now, today. Time flys by so fast!

Nixon had his six month well check in January, he had to get the dreaded shots. I feel so bad doing it to him, but it is definately worth it. The bad thing is this time, he got huge golf ball size lumps in his legs after. I massaged them every day trying to get them to go away. I think we have finally gotten rid of them.
Nixon was
weight 19.5 lbs 75%
height 27.25 75%
head 17.5 50%
So as you can see my baby is geting big! The Dr. said he was doing great but we'd probably need to get him in a rear facing seat instead of an infant carrier.

Nixon is getting so big! He can pretty much sit up on his own, he only falls once in awhile. And when he does, he is so tough that he doesn't even cry. He is just ready to get up and try again!

Look at me MOM! TA DA!

Nixon has started pushing up on his knees, and sometimes his feet too! Pretty soon he is going to be crawling and getting into all sorts of trouble.

Nixon loves eating! Especially those biter biscuit cookies, that is what is all over his face now. He was really enjoying it!

Nixon loves playing the piano at Grandma's house, he is Mozart in training.
(P.S I don't know why those pictures are sideways, I couldn't figure out how to get them straight.)

To Blake

Ok so this post is to my wonderful husband, Even though he'll never read it! I just want to express how much I truely love him. Yesterday was our anniversary. 2 years has gone by so fast, and so much has changed in our lives since then. We have an amazing baby boy, that is growing way too fast and we have a beautiful new house.
My husband is such an amazing man, there are many things that I just adore about him. First would be his love for children. That is what first made me fall in love with him. The way he plays with Nixon is just so cute. They are going to cause me some trouble in a few years I think. They are two of a kind. I love to watch how they interact and play together. He is such a wonderful Daddy!
Another thing I love about Blake is his knowledge and testimony of the Church. He is probably the smartest person that I know when it comes to the scriptures. He makes me want to be better by the example that he is to me.
He makes me laugh, he makes me a better person, he loves me for who I am, he doesn't try to change me, he is so easy to talk to, He is my Best Friend!

I love you Blake and can't wait to share the rest of Eternity with you!
