Our busy saturday

Here are a few pictures of everything we've done today.

Blake's project

Blake has been teaching himself how to do outdoor pavers. He likes to do new things, and get creative with them. These are a couple pictures of the circles he has made in the front of the house by the driveway and front sidewalk to the door. They are looking so awesome. These pictures don't do them justice! He spent the whole day laying sand, making the pattern out, laying pavers, hammering them down with a rubber mallet and nailing in the edging that keeps the pavers in line. He came out with only a few minor injuries from the mallet. When I went out at one time to check on him, he had his thumb taped with duct tape. When I looked at it he told me how he had hit it so hard that it was dripping blood and that was the only thing he could do to stop it from bleeding. Then to make matters worse his cousin dropped a paver on it. Such bad luck. But they are looking so good!

Tristen's project

I decided to paint a picture in Nixon's room. It has taken a lot longer than I thought it would. It's still a work in progress but I think it is coming along great. Just to explain it a little bit, it is going to be like you are standing in a jungle tent looking out at the animals. Then in one corner there is a monkey that will be hanging by a rope.
I just hope that NIxon will appreciate it when he is a little older. I know that his cousins think it's pretty cool. I just finished doing the animals today and every day Brielle and Hunter would look at it and tell me that I needed to put eyes on the animals. They will be so excited to see that Nixon's animals finally have eyes.

Deer in the headlights.... Kind of

Probably the only thing that I hate about the winter time is that it starts getting late so early! The sun is almost completely down at like six o'clock. Nixon and I were driving home from West Point the other night at about six and it was almost completely dark outside. We were on Legacy Highway, which I love by the way since there is hardly ever any traffic on there ever! The only downfall to Legacy is that it is super dark at night time. There aren't many cars or street lights which makes it almost pitch black at night. Well this was how it was the other night. As we were driving I looked just ahead of us and to the left of the car and saw something strange in the lane next to us. At first it looked kind of like a person trying to cross the highway. Upon further observation I noticed that it was a big deer, running right at my car! This wasn't just any deer mind you, it was a really big buck, the kind Blake wished he would have found a few weeks ago while he was deer hunting. I saw that it was running right towards my car. I slammed on the brakes and swerved to the right, but there was nothing I could do. It came crashing into the side of my little Toyota Yaris. I screamed and woke the baby up, then saw it run away in my rearview mirror. I immediately called Blake freaking out. I told him what had happened but was so shaken up that I was crying, hyperventilating, and shaking. He was close so my knight in shining armor rushed to my rescue.

So as I sat in the front seat almost in shock, Nixon was crying in the back because I scared him. I regained my composure, comforted the baby and waited patiently for Blake to come, not knowing at all what the damage was. Blake arrived and I got out of the car and ran to him, still crying. As he looked over the damages he gave me this look and said, 'this is all it was, I thought your hood was crunched in that the windshield was all broken and crashed in' I too looked at the car, but it really wasn't as bad as I first thought. I think that my freaking out caused Blake to freak out too.

Ok so the damage really wasn't that bad. My side mirror was dangling by the wires and I have dents all along the side of the car. And a large one in the rear panel. So I guess no biggie. I'm just thankful that it happened on my side of the car and not the side that Nixon sits on, even though it wasn't that bad. I'm also so thankful that it wasn't a person like it looked at first glance. The only thing bad about the situation is that we just barely switched insurance companies and I am hoping that it doesn't make our rates jump up. So there is my story of my bad Wednesday, I guess alls well that ends well!

I'm so Naive!

I just have this problem I guess and always think the very best of people. I decided that I too am going to join the rally against creepy people, who take all the fun out of blogging for everyone. I have thought about doing this in that past but never quite got to it, but after seeing the news report I decided that it's going to go though this time. I think you all know what to do... Leave me your email or send it to mine at tawisten07@yahoo.com so I can add you on my list. Thanks!

I just wanted to say that I haven't posted for a long time because I lost my camera cord that puts pictures on the computer. A post just isn't the same without pictures of Nixon in it, Right...

We have been doing good though, our house is coming close to being done, hopefully we'll be able to move next week or so. I've been busy painting the house (and after I find my camera I'll post a picture of the project I've been working on for Nixon's room, I think it is turing out cute so far) and Blake has been busy working on the pavers in the driveway. He is having so much fun learning something new. It's going to look so awesome when we are done!

We didn't do much on Halloween, Nixon had the cutest costume though! He didn't like to wear it as much as he liked to rub the soft material on his face. Picture of that will be posted at a later time as well.

We went to Abby Jade's blessing on Sunday. Scott did such a good job and her dress was so pretty! She is such a sweet baby, and so beautiful! I think she looks more and more like Devyn everytime I see her. Go to Devyn's blog to see pics.

More to be posted later! See ya

Silly Hubby

A new use for the Bumbo. A new kind of hat! Gosh I love this husband of mine. He always keeps me laughing and on my toes. Just imagine what I have in store for myself in a few years when Nix and Daddy get together.

Nixon was tagged!

Thanks Megan this one is fun. Sorry it took me so long to get to it!
RULES: Tell five things about your kids that people might not know, and you have to do all of your kids!

1. Nixon thinks he is a big boy. The very first day he was born he was trying to hold his head up all by himself, and he is always wanting to stand or sit. He doesn't like to just lay there ever. He loves his bumbo, and his swing cause that is more sitting then laying

2. He loves his froggy blankie, he always wants to cuddle it. He has to have it with him in his car seat whenever we go for a ride to hold on to. He also loves to cuddle it during his naps.

3. He is a snuggle bunny, especially when he gets sleepy. He wants to be held close then he'll snuggle his nose down it the crook of my arm or my armpit, or this case the blanket. Then he'll fall asleep.

4. He doesn't like the dark! I know he takes after his mommy. When we are driving at night he will scream and scream until we get to where there are a lot of city lights then he'll stop. Until we go on another dark road then he'll scream some more. It is the funniest thing!

5. He likes to watch sports. It doesn't matter what kind of sport it is he'll just sit there quietly and watch it. He loves to watch them with daddy. Dad doesn't really like it when he watches sports with mecause it's usually something like dancing with the stars. I think he was watching football in this one.

Blessing Day

Sunday Nixon had his baby blessing. Blake did such a good job. It was so beautiful! Nixon and I am so lucky to have Blake in our lives. Nixon did really well too, until the very end when he started whining, arching his back and squirming, needless to say it kinda made Blake lose his train of thought but it was still really good. We went over to Aunt Tauna and Uncle Chad's after the meeting for a luncheon with our family and friends. Thanks again to them for letting us go to their new beautiful home. Our mom's and our aunts did so awesome with the food. Here is some pictures of the food and how it was all set up, and some of the people enjoying it as well.

The Uncles...Some Friends.

Getting dressed and ready for the big day.

Nixon's Blessing outfit was so cute. He barely squoze into it though. His chub in his legs were bubbling out. It was cute though. He is such a handsome boy!

Nixon and Abby, I can't believe how much bigger he is then her! She looks so tiny next to him.

Jaycie and Jaxon sure hit it off... they are now friends for life!

Blake and his boy

So as some of you may know the preseason games have started for the Utah Jazz. This was Blake and Nixon watching the game together. They were both just sucked into the TV. That is what will be running our TV for the next few months is non stop basketball. GO JAZZ!

3 Months already!

I can't believe it, my little guy is three months old already! He is growing so fast it just blows my mind. He is getting so fun and big. I love his little baby talk and the killer smiles he is always cracking. Its the best thing to look at. I think that if I could I would just sit and look at him and talk to him all day long. Happy three months Nixon!

Finally I quit putting off this tag!

I was tagged by Megan H...

1. Link to the person who tagged you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write 6 random things about yourself.
4. Tag more or less 6 people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know he or she has been tagged.
6. Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Sorry i've been so busy and haven't done this tag yet. Which brings me to....
1. I am the worst procastinator! I don't know why I do it, most of the time it isn't even things that I don't want to do. For instance, I don't have any baby pictures printed off yet to put in frames, scrapbooks ect... Actually now that I think about it I haven't printed off any wedding pictures either, it's been almost two years now! Writting this is also making me think of other things that I have been putting off doing, like taking Blake's suit pants to get mended, getting all the stuff together so we can finish figuring out or mortgage, cleaning my house, doing laundry, sending out blessing announcements (which I finally got that all planned after three months, I'll pat myself on the back!) painting the house, and all the other things that I constantly tell myself I need to get done by a certain time but never do!

2. I look at peoples teeth. Ok, so it is kinda my job, but ever since I became a dental assistant I'll notice peoples teeth. I'll be with my mom or Blake or a friend and they'll comment on someones outfit, or their hair or anything else but I notice their TEETH! I'll say to Blake Wow! did you see how white and pretty his or her teeth were, or man that person really needs to go see a dentist to fix their holes. He just looks at me funny!

3.I don't like the dark. I know your thinking that it is a little childish to be afraid of the dark. But it isn't like that, I wouldn't call myself afraid. I just don't like it. I don't like that I can't see where I am walking or if someone is hiding in the shadows. I like to see what is going on around me. This quality of mine Blake is trying desperately to break cause it drives him nuts. I'll get up in the night to go to the bathroom and I'll turn on the lamp, then the hall light, and finally the bathroom light. He usually turns off the lamp while I'm in the bathroom and I'll get mad that I have to walk in the dark and these are his exact words... "your a big girl now you need to stop being afraid of the dark". So maybe I really am afraid, but I'll never admit it though.

4. I don't know why I'm admitting this quirk but I leave a trail. My mom always hated when we did this when we were younger. We'd get home from school and kick our shoes off by the dooor, the hang the coats on the railing, then drop the back packs on the floor in the kitchen then get a snack and leave bread out on the counter, ect ect. She always called it leaving a trail cause she'd know exactly where we went when we got home. I still find myself doing it! Thats something I need to stop doing like yesterday!

5. When I was younger I nhated Halloween, well all except the candy part. I hated dressing up, but most of all I hated seeing other peoples costumes. In elementary we'd have a Halloween parade and all the kids would wear their costumes. I closed my eyes the whole time. I was so afraid of the older kids scary costumes. I think this dates back to when my brothers would chase me around with a really scary witch mask, or it could be that everytime I walked out of a room at least one brother was always there to yell "BOO" and make me jump. Even to this day I hate going to haunted houses and just barely started opening my eyes on the scary ride at Lagoon. I went to my vary first haunted house two years ago and almost cried by the time it was over!

6. I have this thing with sounds. I hate the sound of cardboard cutting, or someone chewing on popsicle sticks, or grinding teeth, or scrapeing a spoon to get the last little bit out of a yogurt container. Just things like that. It just makes me cringe and for some reason makes my teeth hurt!

So now everyone probab;y knows too much about me!
I tag anyone who hasn't done this yet. Or better yet any husbands that are daring enough to spill their guts and admit they have faults too!

Cute Nieces and Nephew!

I just wanted to devote a blog to my sweet nieces and nephew. They are the best! I love them so much and am so lucky to be their Aunt.

This is Jaycie Lynn, she is 15 months and is just as sweet as can be. She has beautiful big eyes and full Angelina Jollie lips. She taught herself some sign language and anytime she sees someone she does the sign for food. She loves food! It's so cute! She also has learned to say "Hi", she will say hi to everyone. We were at lunch the other day and she saw some men at a different table and just kept waving and saying Hi to them. She wanted them to say hi back so bad that she just kept doing it. They couldn't see her but it was so cute! She is my little squishy girl. She has the cutest baby chub! I love it!

This is Hunter Bunter. He is sometimes a monster, literally, he will come right up to your face and growl at you! It is the funniest thing! He loves his sisters and his cousin Nixon so much. Every day when I see him he runs up to Nixon and kisses his forehead and asks me when Nixon is going to be bigger so he can play with him. I told him once that after he turned four and Brielle turned seven and Jaycie turned two that Nixon will be one. And be as big as Jaycie is now. He makes me tell him that all the time. He just can't wait. He is the sweetest little boy and is just adorable!

And last but definitely not least Brielle belle. She is smart and always willing to help me or her mom. The first time I met Brielle was when Blake and I first started dating at Blake's house. She jumped from the top of the stairs into Blake's arms over and over again. She loves to do that and have Uncle Blake toss her in the air and catch her. She always yells for him to throw her higher! She just started first grade and is loving it. Everything but school lunch. It's funny we'll ask her what she has for lunch and every day it is either a PB and J or a hot dog. She is so cute and has quite the attitude, she definitely has an opinion on just about everything. She is the most beautiful little girl.

Happy 39 Mom!

I just wanted to take some time to say Happy Birthday to my Mommy. Her Birthday was yesterday! She's so funny cause my whole life whenever someone would ask how old she was she would always say 29. So my Mom has been 29 ever since she really was 29 (so a lot of my life). Yesterday her friend Cindy asked her how old she was and she surprised me when she said 39. I said 39 what happened to 29 and she said that there is no way that she can be 29 and be a Grandma! We started laughing.

I just want to tell my mom how great she has always been. She is so patient and understanding, even when I've made dumb mistakes she has always lovingly done all she could to help me to do the right thing. She always knows just what I need without me ever having to ask. She has always been so supportive to me in everything I've done. She has always been so close to the church and has always done the best she could to help us stay close too. She is not only my mom but my best friend. I hope and pray that I can be the kind of mom to my kids that she has always been to me and my brothers. I look up to her so much! I love you mom!

Sorry this is an old picture but it's the only one I had with the two of us on my computer!

He is smilng!

So we had Grammy Nancie babysit Nixy while I went to a friends wedding for one night and when I went to pick him up, she asked how long he had been smiling. I said um.... he hasn't. So Grammy taught Nix to smile I guess. It is one of the best things to see! Now he just smiles and coos away. I think he has a lot to say but just can't get it out! Its so fun seeing the new things that he learns, but I just don't want him to grow up so fast! I keep telling him that I want him to stay my little baby forever. I'm sure every stage is fun though!

1. Add a comment on my blog. Leave one memory that you have had with either Tristen, Blake, or Nixon. It doesn't matter if you knew us a littler or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about us, we'll assume your playing the game and we'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Peek a boo and Daddy and Mommy

Nixon loves to touch his face. No matter how tight we wrap him with his arms down in his blanket he always manages to get his arms free and puts his hands up by his face.

This was so cute the other day, he acted like he was playing peek a boo. But he was really sleeping

Nixy and Daddy

Nixon and Mommy

When we took the blanket off of him this is how he was laying.

Bath Time

Nixon isn't really a big fan of bathtime... He mostly screams the whole time! This was his very first bath at the hospital.

This was his second and third bath at home with help from Grandma Corrie and Aunt Tauna. Thanks again Tauna for all the bathing tips! (Grandma Nancie helped on his first bath at home but we forgot to take pictures of it)

Nixon Blake Tingey is here!

On Thursday July 10 I woke up at five thirty having contractions, at eight I decided that they were probably the real thing so we went to the hospital to get checked. I was dialated to a 3 but still pretty thick. The Dr. came at about 2 o'clock and broke my water. He said that I was about 5 cm dialated but still pretty thick. When the nurse came to check me at four o'clock she was so surprised that I was fully dialated and fully efaced. She said that she was going to get the Dr. on his way. After about eight pushes Nixon was born!
He was 7 lbs 3 oz, ad 21 inches long. He has a ton of dark hair, and as you can see in the pictures it's a total mohawk! They tried to smooth it down but it wouldn't. It's a perma hawk! He was so alert for like the first six hours after he was born. He would just sit there and stare, take in the new surroundings. His dad would tease him cause he had a huge cone shaped head when he was born, if you've seen Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull thats what Blake said his head looked like. The crystal skull. Daddy was so worried that it would stay that way forever. It's gone down dramatically since then. And he has the longest feet and fingers. He is so perfect. I am so blessed that Heavenly Father trusted me enough to have this child and to raise him. It's amazing that everything can change so fast when a miracle enters your life. He is a miracle to me.
